New trees
We had great fun this week as we took delivery of our new apple trees. Six native Irish species of apple trees were planted around the grounds. There are a mixture of eating apples and cooking apples but we’ll have to wait a little while before we see any fruit!
Thanks to Hare’s Corner Heritage for the donation of the trees, thanks to Elaine who helped us find the perfect location for them and thanks to Tom who helped dig the holes for planting. They will be a great addition to the school grounds for many years to come.
The apple trees planted last month have been joined by some lovely plum trees thanks to Moynalty Community Council. They were planted by volunteers at the weekend and we thank the Community Council for the time and effort given to the school in organising and planting the trees.
