Christmas Fun
Christmas is always fun in Ughtyneill and this year was no different. We started the festive season taking part in the Moynalty Parish Christmas Concert at the start of December.
This brought is into the rehearsals for our own Christmas show in Ughtyneill Hall. This year we performed 'Hale Bale Hotel' and had the pleasure of working with Martina Brennan who designed and made all the animal costumes. They added so much to the performance and we are eternally grateful for her kindness to the school. She took the idea of 'reuse and recycle' to a whole new level - absolutely everything was made for materials in the school storeroom or Martina's garage!
We also welcomed local baker Lizzy Bennett to the school to bake some Christmas cookies with everyone. She catered for all the pupils who worked really well in their groups helped out by Lizzy regular cookery students. The end result was delicious and lots of samples went home so we hope you got to try some.
We finished with great excitement as a very special visitor made time to come and see us before the we left for the Christmas holidays. James found a stranded Santa on the side of the road and brought him down to Ughtyneill NS so he could deliver all his gifts to the boys and girls.
Thanks to everyone for the hard work this term and Happy Christmas to the whole Ughtyneill community.
