The wonders of weather!

25th Mar 2025

The junior room have been busy learning about the fascinating world of weather! From understanding the different types of weather to discovering how weather impacts our daily lives, the children have been diving into exciting hands-on activities. They explored the life of Navan man Frances Beaufort and his creation of the Beaufort Scale to measure wind speeds.  We were able to check what Storm Eowyn reached on the Beaufort Scale!  They experimented with and designed simple weather instruments to measure wind speed at school.  We found just one windy spot but we'd like to test again on a more windy day.  It’s amazing to see the curiosity and enthusiasm as they learn about the more extreme weather conditions around the world. We are working on projects at the moment and look forward to sharing them with you when they are finished.
